Origin us army decals

Hello everybody,

I have in my stock some decals with the following reading:

ACX 1/16 CAV. G-23

Now I know what this means, but I do not know from which model these decals came from.
Does anyone has any ideas ?

TIA, Gé

D’oh! I had 1/16 on the brain. Yeah, in 1/35 I’d have to be digging through quite a few boxes.

Hello 18bravo,

The decals are too large for a hmmwv, m113 or Bradley or any truck.
Perhaps for a m1a2 ?

Hi guys,

Just found the answer !
They are from the old Dragon M1A2 kit, number 3536.
But does anyone knows what ACX means ?

Was ACX was the bumper code for tanks assigned to 1-16 Cav when they maintained vehicles for the Armor School at Fort Knox? 1-16 provided vehicles, drivers, and support to the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course and Master Gunner School. The units responsible for the courses had only students, instructors, and staff assigned so they didn’t have any Soldiers to work in the motorpool, drive, or maintain the M1s, Bradleys, and HMMWVs required for instruction and field training. 1-16 was assigned all those personnel and, at least at Fort Knox, was referred to as the “Slave Brigade” by the Soldiers because they were always working for another unit. Since they had all those personnel, they were also tasked by the Armor School and Fort Knox for everything from gate guard, displays, post police, and anything else you can think of!
