Hey out there: I’m building Tamiya’s Razorback and I’m looking for a color to paint the supercharger. The instructions call for a mix of metallic grey and flat red. I did a quick mix and no, that’s not going to fly. Welcome to a better idea.

Not trying to be pedantic here but it is a turbocharger so it is driven by hot exhaust gasses and therefore lots of heat discoloration. I would do red brown or dark iron and light over spray in blue/ black , silver / gold . Experiment on some scrap first .
I have burnt iron and some other colors on hand to test.
