Wow. 'Love the AVRE even if I don’t quite have the skill set to make it(!)

Good times to be Brit Armour modellers though.

Impressive conversion. What´s carried on thee platforms? Fascines?

Yeah normally.

If I had a spare £130 I would think about it …

Hopefully the fascines come as separate parts. 156 Euros seem a reasonable price.

Hmmmmm. Maybe PSM tries to fill the gap left by AA?

Looks cooler WITH the Fascines. Are the tubes made of plastic? And what the purpose of the “ramp” on the engine deck?

“The AVRE’s success in the Gulf reinforced an idea from 1989, which called for the conversion of more surplus Chieftain hulls. These new AVRE would have a few improvements to the design. The rearmost hamper was fitted with hydraulics to allow the whole thing to tip backwards, allowing fascines or trackway rolls to simply roll off. A small, onboard hydraulic crane was also added. This would lift equipment onto the hull rear and was also used to load fascines and trackway rolls.”

I love me some engineering vehicles and would love to see that AVRE in 1/35 styrene. Too big and expensive in 1/16 plus the one real mental control I have on my model budget is never straying from 1/35 modern era.

Don’t go spending big on any fascine sets ie AFV!
Paper drinking straws work perfectly well,75 per bundle went on the Cent & Chiefy AVRE
