Not wishing to be a neigh-sayer but they’re not bloated enough for a Falaise Gap diorama (although the 3rd is nicely decomposing) but hey they do fill a gap in the market…just not that one.

Looks the part. I think there should also be a couple dead cow carcasses to add to a farm diorama.

Honestly, yes and no… even a dead animal has its physiognomic limitations. This leg is quite high in my opinion, maybe photos distort this effect. It is as realistic as possible.

Dead cows are already available as numbers: DIO-042 and DIO-043

That’s a very sad image, and reminded me of this quite well-known painting, titled “Goodbye Old Man” as a soldier says farewell to his dying horse:

It also reminded me of an extract in Field Marshal Alanbrooke’s diaries, during the early part of WW2 and the retreat from France. Brooke was then a Corps Commander:

“On returning to my château to pick up some papers I was met by Ciriez, our French Liaison officer. He was in an infuriated condition and livid with rage . He informed me that a squadron of French cavalry had entered the château grounds and commenced to shoot their horses and to throw their arms into the moat of the château.”

I admit to being a bit of a softie when it comes to animals.

Ah. I stumbled across this looking for somehting else. This poor guy was at the bottom of a canal - one of the canals that supplies drinking and irrigation water for the Jazeera Desert in the Ninewa Province. Of course we didn’t drink it ourselves - just brushed our teeth and washed our clothes in it…

Water came all the way from the Tigris River, and the canals could be opened and closed at will.
