Please help with question on M4A1 Sherman made by Montreal locomotive factory

hi all
I recently got the Dragon 1/72 M4A1 Sherman 75mm Normandy
it a very good kit but i would like to ask the expert a particular question
On the front of the tank there is a sign/logo that seems to be the one of the
Montreal locomotive factory that during WW2 use to produce the famous
Grizzly Sherman exclusively for the use of the Canadian army
So my question is
are the US Army versions depicted in the kit paint scheme correct if this tank was
only used by the Canadian Army in ETO
Did the US also use this [Canadian made] Sherman tank on the European front?
can someone please adice me on this matter?
thanks very much in advance

Do you mean this casting mark ?

hull

If so, it’s the trademark of the General Steel Castings Corporation from Eddystone,
Pennsylvania and Granite City, Illinois.

The Montreal Locomotive Works sourced its Ram and Sherman hulls from this company…
