The Tamiya Phantoms are still pretty good kits with enough work and AM upgrades, but the hobby has moved on a great deal since then, so it’s time for a new kit. And there is no B in 1/32nd scale, the only solution is a Cutting Edge (now long OOP) or GT Resin conversion that requires major surgery on the wings.
Just noticed it appears the hydraulic lines in the nose gear well appear to be separate fro m the internal structure. This indicates further individual components will not be molded on as part of a larger part. Promising and exciting.
Funny thing, I keep reading bellyaching about how nobody likes BIG(1/32) jets 'cause they are shelf hogs. Some guy named Doogs says this thing will not fly…pun intended…because it’s too big, all the other makers crashed and burned doin 1/32. Well, I DID build the Tamiya Phantom…still on the shelf.
