Project: Stencils for Science Fiction Model Projects

StarshipModeler used to sell a whole sheet of WW2 pinups, but I don’t see that listed in the store anymore…could be Sold Out and OOP for years.

These vinyl ones are for 1:1 scale REAL cars, boats, RVs, motorcycles, aircraft, and vehicles, not scale model kits.

WW2 pinup decals were very popular for the Babylon 5 Starfury fighters. So as the decal production waned, and Sci-Fi modelers drifted away, I believe that there is a renewed interest for Sci-Fi aftermarket decals again.

To be clear, I am not looking for markings and stencils already produced, nor am I looking for inspiration. I am well aware of everything available. I am making science fiction marking and stencil decals for my personal use, and for anyone else who wants to use them. If you want something in particular, I will do my best to help!. If you want to list every decal that could be used on a science fiction project, that will be ever decal every made. I my opinion, is rather pointless and just clutters this project discussion. Please do that somewhere else.

I updated the original post in an attempt to get this project back on track.

Is there a specific person that interests you as a pin-up? I am not really great at that sort of art, but I am also not terrible at it. (I have my own interests and am will work on them as time allows.)

Fair enough. I just thought you might want alerted to what is out there so you could avoid putting your efforts into stuff, which while not being copies of anything in particular, were sufficiently similar in nature as to be a duplication of effort.
Me, I’m a total cheapskate and have quite a few of the decal sheets included in Warhammer 40K products donated by wargaming acquaintances.
Back when I was gainfully employed I had access to printable sticker paper and various drawing packages including a library of generic signs, and ran off a couple of sheets of the latter (suitably down-scaled) for use on wargaming scenery. Around the same time there was an advert on TV for a season of movies to be shown which featured a chap residing in a Post-Apocalyptic London and living in a shack which appeared to be made of recycled road signs. Thus inspired I threw together this little item as a “Thank You” to our own sign makers who were aiding and abetting my activities with various offcuts and leftovers…
