I’d like to share a short clip. After completing the Border model, we needed to find a suitable place to display it. Since this base was available, we decided to use it for a temporary shoot. There are still many details missing in the whole scene, but time is very short here. I hope you like it.
Nice work man !!! I like the soft edge camo blend , also diggin the rock wall and I’m guessin that’s an inverted tree root used to make the tree , All in all , cool .
Hi, Sam!
Thank you for the encouraging comment. You probably have eagle eyes. This is very cool. That tree trunk really is an inverted plant root. We need to improvise a lot of things around here.
I absolutely agree with the others, this is another fine vignette by you in every respect. Clearly I’m in a very small minority but it does bother me there’s no apparent weathering/dirt/dust. I’m always open to reasons why not, so go for it! It’s just that when I see something this good, my heart sinks that it looks too “fresh”. As I said, I’ll probably be shouted down but I’ll survive
Don’t be upset, my friend! Your observations are sensible and very realistic.
Actually, due to my great anxiety, I always end up skipping steps that are important in the work. I really wanted to test a scene of this vehicle with foliage on it and how much this would hide the whole work. Unfortunately, I’ll have to go back to the beginning and redo a new start in the weathering process and then, yes, the foliage.
But I have absolutely no idea when this might happen…
Thank you very much for your comments and notes. You’re always welcome!
OK well there you go, thanks mate - a perfectly reasonable explanation! Actually I don’t think it would take much if you wanted to – about half a teacup of pastel/pigment dust of a medium brownish shade. If it’s fine enough it should naturally adhere to surfaces like on the Mk2 if applied (dry) with a soft brush, and on the camo foliage. For the wheels I’d probably dampen them first with water & then scrub the dust on. Similarly with the wall. But honestly it’s a gem as is (btw it’s Tim )
