Question About Dragon 3558 HEMTT M983

Hello everyone, I am new in the forum, I am would like to get clarified about a kit:

I got one MIM-104 Patriot PAC-2 kit from Dragon. I am building the M983 tractor with some Italeri HEMTT spare parts. The Instructions seem ok but I wonder what is the usage of the part A2, image below. Apparently is only being used on the 3558 kit and unused on the M901 kits 3563 and 3604. After careful comparison between the instructions of 3558 and the rest, looks like it should be used somewhere in the tractor unit.

I’ve not built it but you could try looking for it on youtube as there are a lot of people who film themselves building models.

Yeah, this kit in particular has some unboxing videos, but I could not find any detailed build up.
