R.I.P. Dave Prowse a.k.a. Darth Vader

it is with great sadness that i have heard announced on the BBC here in Scotland that the Dave Prowse the man who was Darth Vader and the Green Cross Code Man for many of us here in the UK has died at the age of 85. I had the privilege of meeting him at once and he was very down to earth and a regular guy that didn’t take himself to seriously.

Thoughts and sympathies to his family.

Very sad news.
I met him when I was about 6 or 7 and he opened a video rental shop in my town. Would have been around 1989 maybe? He arrived dressed in the Vader costume and shook my hand. Quite exciting for me at the time.

I also remember him as Hot Black Desiato’s bodyguard in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, lifting Ford up by his collar.
