Rail Inspection Vehicles

I guess the “Vert IR OTAN” ( = NATO IR green) should be OK. It was used from the 50’s to the beginning of the 90’s.

I’ve seen a rocket turtle :turtle:

Fun fact, in South Dakota there’s also an unincorporated town named Keyapaha, which means turtle hill. Apparently there’s also a river by that name.

How would I know that? Because there is a GPS waypoint for aircraft very close to it.

And, because Koda Waste told me. :turtle:

Well I’m calling this one done! My Section Superintendent no longer needs to walk the rails. Another model to attract folks at the next show…

That turned out great Tom!! Top notch!! You did an excellent job on your entry. Makes me feel guilty that I haven’t done anything with mine yet and also reminds me that I haven’t been a very good campaign leader either.

Thank you for enlisting and completing your entry.

Last Saturday I moved most of our Christmas decoration boxes out of the house and into storage. I moved a couple of my model boxes into my model room. Two steps forward and one step back but I’m feeling optimistic that I can start painting and gluing in the next month or so.

I’m still jonesing for the Mac rail but for expedience, may order that inspection Model T from Wiseman. I just want to build something!

Last week at the library I found some photos that I load as soon as I can.

I understand that, has a few free minutes to build some 1/16 M113 tracks. Still awhile before I start the kit but this task is done and had some fun. Double win.

@Tank_1812 were you in the M113 group build? A Vietnam vet buddy of mine built the 1/16 113. He was airborne but was attached to a unit that and spent a lot of time riding around on them. He modeled his after one that he spent a lot of time on and has photos of.

I wanted to be in the group build but life didn’t work out that way. My rig is to be a USMC 3rd Tank BN asset in early 1969 when H&S troops became grunts (every Marine is a rifleman) to patrol Quang Tri Province. These were borrowed from US Army 5th Mech for about 6 months.

Does this command car count? Or is it too much fighting vehicle since it can have machine guns?

Rebuilt post-war with glass windshield, better seats and a cargo bed in the rear?

The rules were quite liberal, allowing military or civilian use. I’d argue this was used for inspection against sabotage so that fits the theme!

Thanks for the quick answer, Tom! I will enter with this kit then! :slightly_smiling_face:

More to follow.

That will be fine for an entry Jesper. Sorry for the delay in responding.

I’m not going to be overly picky about entries as I just want everyone to have fun. I haven’t built anything for some time now and I am hoping that this campaign will help motivate others to get in some bench time as well.

I apologize to all of you as I have not been a good campaign leader at all. I definitely need to improve on my participation.

I still plan on building this for my entry. I have everything I need…I just need to get started on it.

I bought this set to get the wheels from. I just need to decide which ones to use. Pretty sure I will go with the spoked ones just for the bling factor.

Thank you again everyone for your participation.

Absolutely!
Also a better choice for such a light vehicle,
easier to get lighter wheels turning …
