And I’m very pleased to see it is the correct shape, that being a proper U shape and not an O with the top cut off. It should have and does have straight sides to the top of the trough. It’s also a later version with a split front end housing the damping pads. This let the barrel be lifted out of the trough after being unscrewed from the breech ring. Previously the flash hider had to be removed and the barrel fed backwards until clear.

Apologies for the late reply, been in Greece for 10 days! It’s not something people realise until someone does some real scrutinising of pictures so kudos to Tom for that. Previously RB, Aber and one other company whose name fails me produced them but they are long OOP and I remember 2 out of the 3 were incorrect.
