Raupenschlepper Ost interior colour?

I am working on a 1/72-scale kit of the Raupenschlepper Ost. The exterior colour will be dunkelgelb with a worn winter whitewash. What would be the likely interior colour of such a vehicle?

I guess the interior color was the same as the exterior one…

Dunkelgrau version :

Frenchy,

Thanks for that. I imagine both of these photos are of restored examples (possibly museum exhibits). They appear to have been repainted (judging by the pristine surfaces). It occurs to me that vehicles that would have been repainted in dunkelgelb, would have retained their original dunkelgrau interior (unless they were later models) … why waste valuable paint on an enclosed cab? Just a thought …

I guess so as well…

Note the leather on the seats matches the paint (brown with “tan”; grey with grey), so even if they were repainted it appears the owner tried to match the original finish.

It is my understanding interiors didn’t always get a repaint if the exterior changed (It’s a pain to mask off the interior – I repainted my VW bus in and out so I speak from experience.

Now for open-top vehicles it might depend on how much interior is visible from above and detectable by aerial recon.

In your case I would likely go with dunkelgelb.

RSO/2 and /3 (squared off ,open wooden cab) were produced after dunkelgelb came in. They would have been Dunkelgelb from the factory.
