Hmmm…Hobby-Genki is selling it for 1/2 - 1/3 the price (in $CAN), if my currency converter is correct! Is that typical for that store?

Yep the kit is out, I saw the contest table last month.
So how did that particular figure look, considering it is plastic?
Looked pretty good as I recall.
Most kits are cheaper overseas but the shipping cost raises the price significantly.
Nonetheless, some online shops charge a “profit fee” to each item to offset the shipping cost and that raises the price also. Thus, I still find it cheaper to buy from overseas than in the USA; that’s just how it is.
Shipping from US, just to Canada, varies greatly without rhyme or reason. So items manufactured outside US are subject to all kinds of import duties and tariffs, and store mark-ups, and combined with outrageous shipping (to Canada) make the total price unrealistic - sometimes almost double the price as purchasing the item directly from it’s country of origin (usually China, or Japan). However, I did find Red Sonja available (on special order) at a local brick-and-mortar LHS. A bit more than ordering from Japan, but it is local.
