No.46 Dunkelgrau became RAL7021 in early 41(?) . That’s when all the RAL(ww2) numbers we’ve all come to know and love came in.

Back in the day … The paint colors used were defined by the Reich-Ausschuss für Lieferbedingungen (RAL) (Reich committee for terms of delivery). It is important to note that, while the current Bundeswehr color standard uses some of the same color names, the colors are different from the ones used during the war.
