Majority of the people are old Preisler figures. The old lady & crutch guy are from the spares box and thus are of unknown origin.
The base and wall are scratch built and was originally designed to work as a background piece to photograph various model vehicles.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy…
These are the 1:35 Preisler figures from years ago. They used to make a whole line of German soldiers and various other figures in 1:35 scale (maybe they still do?)
Brilliant work Charles, you’ve proved yourself a Master several times over now - this one has extra punch too. Also they’re uncommon figures (to me anyway) apart from the MiniArt matron at the back, I like how you gave her a big handkerchief.
It’s strange, close-ups prove you took a lot of care over the cobbles (moss etc.) but I think the overhead in particular may have led Jack to mention lack of dirt, it does for me too. You may know me, there can never enough dirt & dust but maybe there’s a happier medium worth looking into here? I’d also suggest some detritus on the road, like abandoned rags, paper, a hat maybe, something to emphasise even more that they’re hurrying to get away. Some shell/bullet damage into the walls/doors would (arguably) over-do the scene, so if you were tempted I admire your restraint!
Very nicely done. Superb work with the figures and setting. Others have already mentioned maybe some additional dirt or debris. To me, sometimes less is more. I like the whole composition of the scene. Something that jumped out at me was the dead vines on the building wall. It just seemed to connect the figures and environment in a way to tell the story of depression and desperation. Well done.
@Dioramartin & @ DAKjunkie, I agree that although I had weeds etc. on the roadway It was all too microscopic at distances past 6-7”. I took your suggestions to heart and added some leaf debris at the building base and general dirt & dust to the cobblestones. I think it looks better. Thank you both for the suggestion.
