Require some photos of the Soviet T-50 with extra armor in original service

So if you could provide me some photos with the tank in Soviet usage instead of the omnipresent Finnish service ( the ones with the good luck svastika) it would highly be appreciated.

I am planning to start building a model of this tank myself, so your question interested me.
Unfortunately, I have to disappoint you - there will be no other such tanks with additional armor. According to two well-known and respected historians of armored vehicles in our country, the additional armor was made by the Finns themselves at a repair plant. A striking distinctive feature of the vehicle is the armored headlight caps from the T-26 tank.

In total, about 150 tanks were produced, so it is possible to track the design options, unlike the T-26 or T-34 tanks.
As an alternative, I can offer an interesting and real camouflage for this tank.

Who makes a kit of the T50??

Hobby boss has 2 kits, both the Soviet one andthis Finnish one with Applique armor. Also Mirage has a kit for the Finnish one.

Thanks for the info. I have already bought the kit from Hobby Boss and the Replacement turret from MiniArm. Probably will do the Finnish version now, even if I don’t like swastikas on my models…

I see. A completely “naked” tank is not interesting. Maybe you can make a historically correct swastika, like in this historical photo of the parade?

Not like it is now painted in the Finnish museum.

Thank you very much for that information, i will look out for both kits, does either come with a turret interior?

In the Hobbyboss 83827 set (I have it on hand) there is nothing in the tank turret.
I assume the same in the others.

The OLD Techmod T50 kit was really good. You might be able to find one on EBay.

P.S. I apologize to the author of the post for going off topic, but I couldn’t resist.

Under the Mirage boxing, the old TechMod kit is still available in stores in Europe. Tank T-50, Mirage Hobby 35106 (2000)

I don’t mind, and those porcelain t-55 and t-62 are marvelous. But keep in mind that the Indian religions symbols where a way saying swastikas …

Also do you know what those things on the back are supposed to be

. They replace the jack which is moved to the fender, but I don’t seem to understand what goes into them

Yes, I know. The Finnish Air Force only got rid of the swastika on its emblem in 2020. (left - before, right - after)

This is how the Finns remade the mounts for jacks. The jacks seem to have remained the same, but there are no photos of them.

I’ve seen both of those before and particularly like the blue and white one.

…

Both Hobby Boss and Techmod T-50s are readily available on eBay. (A Hobby Boss T-50 is slightly cheaper to my location.) Online reviews exist for both models but none of them go into detail with regards accuracy. I did not find a comparison review.

I’ve seen the blue one before, but the red and gold one is new to me. Really looks awesome.
