Hi mates!
The Arado 240 was commissioned directly by the “Reichsluftfahrtministerium” (Reich Aviation Ministry) in the early 1940s without an official tender. The aircraft was intended to complement the Me 210, which was also under development.
The Arado 240 was designed as a destroyer, fast bomber, high-altitude fighter, reconnaissance aircraft and night fighter. A special design feature was the patented “Arado Wanderflügel”, which was a further development of the Fowler flaps. These lift aids with great depth were necessary because the design was optimized for high speed with minimal wing area, which inevitably resulted in a relatively high wing loading.
My model shows an Arado Ar 240 A-02 of the 3.(F)/100, Kharkov (Russia) in 1943.
The kit is one of the good protagonists that Revell brought out in the 90s of the last century.
The fit is good, details are okay.
I built it oob. Only some stretchy yarn was used as antenna wire.
Colors from Mr.Hobby (RLM 76+75), Revell (RLM 70+74) and Tamiya.
The display is a slate plate with a self-printed bottom graphic glued on.
Horrido
