I tried to get the kit look as close as I could to the car that won the GT1 Class at the American Le Mans Series 2005 Petit Le Mans. There are some errors in the decal instructions, and I did my best with what I had. The kit went together quite nicely, although I could not get the front splitter to glue to the underside of the radiator for some reason, so it’s a little low. And I did have a “Duh!” moment with the roof decal on the right side. Amazingly decals & tape don’t play nice! Who’d a thought! The color is Tamiya Yellow TS-16 and a LOT of Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black TS-29. I did use the Revell of Germany instructions for some detailing reference as the Revell USA instructions are “lacking”. All in all, I’m pleased with the results. I did enjoy the kit (although there was WAY too much chrome), and I enjoyed researching the history of the C6.R.
Beautiful work Jim- such a fantastic paint and decal job you have done. Very cool to see how detailed and well painted the engine and interior are too.
So last night I was sitting in my hotel room and decided to play around with Gemini. I wanted to see if I could add my C6.R to the pit lane a Daytona International Speedway. After some rather “interesting” iterations, here is the final result:
It’s not terribly accurate as the grandstand & track are behind the pit lane, so that’s a little weird, and Gemini added the Michelin Man below the front marker light (which is not on the model). The pit lane isn’t very chaotic, and no one seems like they’re in a particular hurry, so we’ll call this a test session. Gemini did add a driver in the car, so that’s something. Not bad for my first attempt at something like this, though.
