I am glad to see that the kit has such a detailed Dshk. Plenty of models simplify the commander’s MG a bit too much.
I had to look for aftermarket ones recently as I am putting one on a pick up and it was hard to find a decent one even in that field.

Not trying to undermine your brave position, Phil 
But I have a modelling buddy, who:
- served 10 years in a battalion armed with T-55(various models, makes and modifications),
- is a walking encyclopaedia on all technical matters relating to T-55,
- has built a company of T-55 kits(various makers),
- is very quick in finding the shortcommings, omitions and simplifications in any T-55 kit
2 months ago, me and Kalin @k_mero4 bought the RFM T-55 kit as a present for his birthday(late November).And just to make sure he doesn’t buy the kit too, we spoiled the birthday surprise by showing him his present and allowing him to inspect the sprues.
The only thing he said was:
- Damn, it even has the OPVT(river fording kit) spares sack on the back of the turret.I spent a week in anger while building one for the MiniArt I finished recently!

Anyone know the differences between a mod 70 and a mod 81. I have a couple of books on the T-55 but none of them go into enough detail to tell those kinds of differences…
