Mike,
Do you have any close-up photos of the overpass type tires on the Husky Mk III VMMD? After reading your comments to Damraska, I now want to CAD and 3D print them - I bought the kit during the SB Lightening Sale, too.

Kind regards,
James

There’s one on display at the Pima Air & Space Museum locally. I can swing over during the weekend and take detailed pics if needed.

That’s a very generous offer, Reynier. I do not want to inconvenience you too much however. Google searched photos may be OK I think. If you can get me some more close-up photos and some measurements, that would be fantastic but only if it’s not much trouble.
Are those overpass tires same size as the AFV Club-supplied training tires in 1/35 scale, do you know?
Thanks again.

Kind regards,
James

Don’t forget the three Australian M113’s converted into mine clearing vehicles in Vietnam.

Here are “HMAPC Flint” and “HMAPC Steele”

and “HMAPC George”

There’s a 1/35th scale conversion set from Firestorm

I have a Tiger Models Nagmachon Dog House Late heavy APC and I want to add a mine rolller, but I don’t know if it is accurate to do so. I know the earlier ones used them.

I’m really terrible about remembering to get stuff but I do have a set from the panda hobby kit I can snap pics of those for you they look pretty close to me.

Sounds good, Mike. Photos and measurements of the tire (height, width (tire thickness), and length (inner diameter and outer diameter (I guess this would be the same as the height)) in metric b/c I use metric in CAD software) would be extremely helpful. Thank you.

I will do my best to get those measurements for you. The tires on the kit are definitely not correct for the one here. And none of the usual purveyors of AM sagged wheels, (DEF Model or Real Model Resin) provide the correct thread tires.

A good time as any to make some tires that are more accurate.

If it works a little better I can send you a couple so you can have hands on them when I order the 3D prints from you ( as you know I will) you can send them back.

Ah, one quick shake of the bushes and found some detailed pics of the Sand Trail MOV tires used on the Husky (courtesy of Eastern Surplus & Equipment)

These are awesome, Reynier!

Mike, no need to send the kit parts. What SabelLiger posted are sufficient to CAD. Thanks though!

I have had a hand in virtually all of the US examples that are available in kit form,l. I have extensive walkaround’s used by the model companies, including a lot of the mine plows and rollers. If you are interested in purchasing any of these walkaround’s, I’ll do a three for the price of two special right now. PM me if interested.

If we’re covering models as well, This is my Matilda Scorpion from a couple of years back (1/48 scale). The flail hamper is all scratchbuilt, based on some re-scaled plans in an old MAFVA ‘Tankette’ journal.
