I would use lead foil to make the rubber flap on the Abrams in picture.

Try as I might, I just can’t find where I said that in my post.
i use all sorts of materials on my builds. A lot of my scratchbuilt items are made from brass shim, which I’ve posted fairly recently.
I’ll use whatever material I think works best to replicate the look I want. Until I see rubber used as rubber that actually looks good, it’s not going to be one of my choices.
Don’t people usually grouse about rubber tires anyway, and then go out and pay another $25 for resin ones?

You may not have said it directly, but your post could easily be interpreted as such, at least from my perspective.
A link was provided to the use of rubber in one of the posts, on scaledracula.com. While not mudflaps, in my opinion it looks pretty good.
