Rye Fields M1A1 with Polish and Ukrainian markings

They will sell the PT91’s to Ukraine or give them for free ?

Probably for free

The lower armored shields for the loader look somewhat easy to scratch-build or to CAD for 3D printing. Should be fun and not too painful. That’s if you don’t want to rob Peter to pay Paul.

Hey folks, now that some time has passed - I was wondering how suitable this boxing would be indeed for a Polish M1A1? Furthermore, is it still possible to build a Ukrainian tank out of this kit even if you don’t follow the instructions?

Yes to both. Go back up the thread and it shows both the Ukraine and Polish versions. Don’t use the older, sloped back GPS cover on either and the rest is pretty much correct.

Thanks Gino. I was a bit confused with the terminology used - am I right in understanding the kit can build either a M1A1SA (Ukrainian) or M1A1 FEP (Polish)?

Yes, it has the parts for either version.

Some of the first Ukraine M1A1 SA tanks seen on the battlefield.

Some have also been seen with TUSK ERA blocks attached for extra protection.

This one shows some of the markings on them too, at least a turret number.

Kind of sucks having to buy, or have two kits for this to be accurate. Started modelling up a 3D printable upgrade kit for the turret. Both the loaders blast shield and M240 armor. Probably will also do the ERA as well, since I don’t want to have two abrams kits - only interested in the Ukrainian version.

Rye Field has now announced an M1A1 Ukraine Update Version kit.

It looks like mostly the same parts as the previous kit. I guess the new parts are the Loader’s gunshield and surrounding armor plates that were missing in the previous kit.

Also looks like they replaced the link & length tracks with “workabel” individual links.

doe they also have the belly armor?

No idea; I don’t think the Ukrainian Abrams have the belly Armor, since that’s part of the US Army’s SEPv2 upgrade program.

I don’t know if they have it either but I was under the impression that is was an item in the tusk package and can be added and removed as necessary like the other items.

It is not included in the Rye Field UA/Polish kit but in the Marine FEP kit of the recent releases.

The belly armor is part of the TUSK I package, not a feature of M1A2 SEP v2 upgrade. M1A1s w/TUSK 1 in Iraq had belly armor.

I would assume Ukraine M1A1 SAs have it as part of the TUSK package.
