Ryefield Model M4A3 VVSS Late Production

Decided to pull the trigger on RFM’s newest offering for the Shermanholics, like myself…

AFAIK, RFM is offering this kit in both standard form, as well as with full interior and engine deck, with its Ford GAA V8 power plant. I went with the standard form for ease of building.

i want to see how this kit fares against the Tamiya/Academy/Dragon/Italeri/Asuka/Meng kits available.

Looking forward to building this one as a Sherman participating in the operations to cross the Rhine River in early 1945.

Same here, pulled the trigger on the standard. Didn’t see much point in the upgraded and didn’t want the one with an interior.

I also discovered that Meng makes a resin sandbagged Hull upgrade as well…

Looks like a good add-on. Wonder if it will fit the RFM hull?

I’ve wanted to get that sandbag set too. Just too expensive. I’ve built the RFM M4A3E8 and it’s a solid kit. Compares well with the Asuka kits. Meng M4A3 76mm VVSS are nice too. I’ll pick this one up. But I don’t need much excuse to get another Sherman.

Neither do I. I have a couple Sheramans on the stash right now.

The Sherman has been one of my favorite tanks to build. All I need now is a Meng M4A3E2 “Jumbo”, an Asuka/Tasca M32B1 ARV and maybe even another M4A3 to build as a T-34 “Calliope” rocket launcher.

I noticed it is expensive… I would have to look at it and analyze it, maybe i could be able to cobble it together using brass and styrene and scratch-build the metal cage; then add sandbags made of putty… I would need a log of time to get it all done; it is possible, but with me working full time, it’ll be a challenge.
