SADF Eland 90 Mk7 (AML 90) - Noddy Car

I’ve seen him post some 1/72 3D printed stuff on the late on FB.

I think he is changing from resin to 3D printed.

I finally built and mounted the radiator armoured grille.

Not too shabby.

Started working on the front end and suddenly realised that the standard mount for the sand ladder was wrong. The SADF variant mounted the ladder the other way around. Some surgery is required to correct that oversight.

In the photo above shows the correct orientation for the sand ladder. The brackets need to project further forward and feature a channel to retain the ladder.

Not a clear photo of the set up, but you can get a feel for what I am on about.

Forgot to mention that I had source new headights, as you can see they are mounted on top of the fenders for better protection when boonie bashing.

I’m happy with my work on the sand ladder brackets.

Added cable reel to side of turret and storage tube down the side.

Still got the lights to do.

Just added the exhaust pipe, and front head lights. Both required a bit of surgery to locate.

Now just got to do the bush bars for the lights.

Slimmed down the wheels for the lugged tyres. These are smaller width and diameter than the originals, as you can see.

Well, I think I’m done with the mods.

Added some plating on the side, located the water jerry can on the other side and mounted some tarp/cammo to the back of the turret. Fitted bush guards for the head lights. Fitted handles and a hinge to the storage bin fitted to the back of the turret.

Next is the undercoat and then paint and weathering.

Till the next update🖖🏼
