Very nice mate … They look really good together… That’s a Dio practically made already …:+1:

Ever the optimist hey Ryan. Just think positive waves.

That said, it doesn’t hurt to have to touch up some times:

Don’t you put that on my Ricky Bobby. Getting the paint job done will be a chore by itself, don’t need the diorama police adding to my list of issues (again).

More of realist. I know the enemy and the enemy is me.

Love your paint job.

Thanks guys.

Ok mate … I formally retract any statement alluding to, or indicating that a Dio could be made, or even thought about concerning AT AT walkers or variants that are in the process of being built. :+1:

I am going to do some Star Wars Legion Dark Troopers for this campaign.

They need a very shiny unweathered look, so I am going to try out AK interactive extreme metal paints.

More to follow :slightly_smiling_face:

I just unwrapped my 250mm ETSY 3-D printed Sci-Fi female figure. (I am usually a sucker for non-MaK SF3D armored fighting suits).

I didn’t know that it had ā€œHeroineā€ wargaming pose dimensions in that the legs (they are too long) are out of proportions to the torso and head, but no matter. I’ve also noticed that the submachine gun has no ammo pouches on the belt.

The black railgun is from another ETSY 3-D print seller, so fortunately, doesn’t require ammo pouches on the belt.

Looks very cool, Peter. Nice clean and sharp 3D print.

Looking forward to see more :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, Jesper.

I might not use the railgun as it appears too long for the torso. Instead, I might opt for another smaller 1/12 rifle or forgo using any rifle and just build the figure ā€œas is.ā€

Comes from a planet with less gravity - maybe cybernetic implants? Lots of excuses you can use!

WOW, it looks great!

True you are, Peter! I also was thinking that it could be a powerred armored fighting suit and she is walking on robotic stilts and using robotic limbs.

A month since my last post, finding it hard to get bench time lately to move forward with this build. Before I get started on the primer and paint I need to think about how this will be displayed. Having lots of ā€œstuffā€ hanging underneath I will need to have it raised off the deck somehow.

I’m thinking of having it docked beside a tower with frames and cables attached, like a refueling scenario. I found a heavy plastic storage container that is about the right size and height, and has an interesting shape. I will use a pair of small metal threaded rods to support the ā€œMouse Thingā€ off the side if the tower so I can hold them in place with nuts for stability. I will slide some styrene tube over the top to cover the rod. The tower will have a bunch of pipes and boxes and odd stuff added to liven it up.

I will probably prime the tower then paint it roughly with some grey shades to look like concrete.

As usual, this project is becoming more and more complex, but also a lot of fun and anticipation in the thought processes.

Cheers, D

Looking good, Damian. Nice idea to raise it up that way. You also just do a clear plastic / acrylic stand.

Looking forward to seeing more :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking good Damian and I echo Jesper’s comment on raising it up.

BTW, I know you are an SMS paints fan, have you tied the Advance or do you only use the Premium? I just ordered a couple of the Advance and haven’t really heard anything about them.

@SGTJKJ thanks Jesper! I’m keen to start working on small bases for my builds, the only one I’ve ever done was this small scene for a ā€œTarpā€ theme group build on Facebook.

Building a Sci-Fi based scene sounds like a whole heap of fun with freedom of expression and will add context to the ā€œMouse Thingā€ (still haven’t thought of a name for it yet  ).

I’m planning on ordering some of the ā€œAK Diorama Series Acrylic Terrains - Concreteā€ to paint the tower after priming, I think it will give the surface texture I’m looking for and I can use oils to weather it up a bit.

@Dixon66 thanks Dave. Yes, big fan of SMS, helps that I know the owner of the business quite well :sunglasses:. The ADVANCE range is basically the same pigments as the PREMIUM range, just not pre-thinned for airbrushing. It allows you to thin them to your own preferred ratio as well as brush paint them. I haven’t used them myself but have seen them used with really good results. I look forward to some feedback from you once you get them on your bench.

Cheers, D

@AussieReg Thanks Damian. I’ve converted to almost exclusive use of SMS Premium for airbrushing and wanted to give those a try for brush detailing.
