Scratch Built & Conversions

The helmets (and cameras) are already being offered commercially. Contact Michael Goldberg @MikeyBugs elsewhere on this site.

A few of my conversions / kit bashes. Just got back in after a long hiatus so go easy on me it’s been a long time. I do enjoy kit bashing and some scratch building to bring some of these obscure guns to life.

The first two are FK 7M59 a PAK 40 modified to increase it’s range by increasing max elevation from 22’ to 35’and FK 7M85 a PAK 40 and a le FH 18/40 combined to create a dual pupose gun.

The next two are a K81/3 a 12.8 cm gun mounted to the PAK 43/41 carriage and a PAK 97/40 the French 75mm gun mounted to a PAK 40 carriage with a Solothurn muzzle break an effort to reduce the "kick " of thr samd gun mounted in the lighter PAK 38 carriage (PAK 97/38)

The third is a 12.8 cm gun mounted in a Soviet 152mm 1937 carriage.
The 12.8 cm caliber was selected because it was already a caliber used in the navy and it wouldn’t need new tooling.

The last are a PAK 50 a shortened PAK 40 with a large muzzle break on a PAK 38 carriage. An attempt to create a lighter gun with performance similar to the PAK 40. The last is a I.G.37 a 7.5 cm gun mounted PAK 36 carriages. Designed to replace thr LE ,IG 18, some were even mounted on Soviet carriages that were captured by the Germans on the Eastern front.

All of these builds were inspired by what I found in ā€œGerman Artillery of World War Two by Ian Hogg.ā€ Except for the K81/3 which I found in another reference scource online.

Thanks guys.

Besides pictures there is a site called On The Way that is a small scale only platform but you can use their conversions as basic road maps along with online reference material. Two of them are available now in conversions from Scale Mates out of Germany along with some other interesting kits. The shipping is very high out of Germany so I buy that stuff out of Australia from BNA Model world. Much cheaper shipping.

I have some others but they are very subtle so they don’t present well unless you know what your looking at. a Fallshirmjager 42mm tapor bore Pak42 that uses the Pak36 as its basis. A Hungarian Solothurn AT rifle., a Czech 47mm from and Italian gun…etc. I have some other projects in different stages. Like an Italian 90mm AA gun, Romanian general purpose 75mm gun , and a Hungarian 40 mm AT gun. And others on deck like the German PAW 600, 7.5cm IG 42, 7.5cm Geb ig 18, and others. Not in the same league as ghe other conversions in this thread but they keep interested and busy.
