Scratch built US M41 Howitzer Motor Carriage

I scratch built this back 2002 using the Italeri M24 Chaffe and their 155mm howitzer.

Incredible! You are a scratch building machine! Ever consider making masters ?

Hi Richard
Thank very much for the compliment.

I do not consider my self a machine even though I have had 2 to 3 scratch build at a time when I get stuck with no detail for it. then I move to the next one.

I got asked by two companies to make masters and work to a time line. I said no because of family time and work demanded that I work overtime, being a foreman on large scale projects. The worst was a project that to be closed in, in 9 weeks. We worked 12 hour day 7 days a week for 9 weeks and we closed it in. I had no family life, I took a weeks holiday after that.

I hear ya Ralph- ya gotta do what ya gotta do lol right ? Trying to balance family and work can be very difficult.
I was just asking because you have a tremendous talent and work ethic and attention to detail. Really something to admire! Keep it up

Very nice. I always liked the look of the M41. I’m hoping a plastic kit of it comes out as I don’t want to do all that scratch work. Hats off to you for tackling it.

Hi Gino
Thank you very much for the compliment and yes it was a lot of work especially to scale every thing.

Another really nice piece to go with that M75 and M44!

Ralph,

As usual, great work on a relatively-unknown piece of arty. As you probably know, Bronco had announced that they were going to produce a M41 “Gorilla” kit but, I have yet to see any announcements saying that it has been released.

Anyone have an update on Bronco’s kit?

Steve

Very nice - especially the detail work on the old Italeri 155. I keep hoping that Bronco comes through with the M41 that they announced in 2019.

Hi Steve
Thank you very much for the compliment.
I see that Bronco was going to release the M41 “Gorilla”. But I thing they put it in the dust bin.

Hi Rick
Thank you very much for the compliment.
It took a while to do all the changes on the Italeri 155mm.
