After building the many KH helicopter kits I wanted a newer DAP. These parts will be added to the KH MH-60L kit. Started with a cardboard form, added baking clay and baked. Sanded to shape and primmer to see faults. I still need a bit of sanding.
Nice start but what is a baking clay? Not familiar with it. TIA.
Great technique on that nose extension, very clever.
Hi Joe. Good to see you back. Looking good. So, you are building an MH-60K, which has since been retired/replaced by MH-60Ms. Nice.
Some inspiration.
Back one day and already setting the standard.

One brand I know of is called sculpey, it’s a polymer clay that hardens with heat.
.Sculpey is certainly a method. Whatever you do, I find it’s easier to remove if you add a very thin layer of oil to the surface so that your piece will pop off easily. I used Milliput here, so no baking required.
It’s sculpey modeling clay, make what you need, bake at 225*. Then carve and sand.
Not a lot of MH-60K pics out there. I don’t think I have seen any in the DAP configuration. I believe the above is actually an MH-60M DAP. The MH-60M has the wider, two-window FLIR ball, along with other updates. I believe your reference pic in your initial post is an M as well.
The K is pretty much a standard L with the different nose radar mount, a couple sensors on the upper chin windows, sensors at the top center of the canopy, and a few other antennas and sensors on the fuselage at various areas. Everything else is standard MH-60L fit.
Here are a few more MH-60Ks.
I’m sending you a pic from my walkaround . See if it helps. If it does, I have more…
Thanks Gino, yeah I’m working with what I have. It’s won’t be accurate but ill try to get close
Thank buddy, will come in handy.
Bit more work today. Gotta say my eyes are not like once before lol.
Gino, i may just skip the DAP and just pick on photo and go off thatThat sounds like a plan. It is looking nice so far.
As I said, there are more if you need them, and they are obviously high quality.
Welcome back, Mother, @mother2.0
Thank you, great to see you.
Thanks. Gotta say the eyes are not as sharp as once before. Struggling to see LOL..those days are gone.
That be awesome , thanks for the offer.
