Wow! This is what I’m talking about. These look good to go and like they don’t need any modification, just good painting. They very much have a Operation Konrad/Hungary very late 1944-45 look to them. They’d pair very nicely with Border’s new 251 or Takom’s new 250 (neither of which I’ve had the pleasure to build yet.) These would also look great in an Ardennes diorama.

I notice there’re no metal cleats on the bottom of the boots. Is this a late-war thing or an omission?

Omission. German boots were hobnailed throughout the war. The heavy cleats you are thinking of are on German Mountain boots.
