A curiosity … is the crew of that vehicle the guys who have to attach it to their tank and what is an average amount of time required? I’m so glad I was a grunt!
Good question, I wonder if it’s just the maintenance guys or a combination of them and the crew.
Glad I was a grunt also, but I was mech and we always had to worry about the vehicles!
It takes a good crew (4-man tank crew only) about an hour to mount one using only on-board manual tools. If you have power or air tools, and a few maintenance guys, it can go quicker.
I was straight leg for the first 4 years then airborne for 5. I spent two months in NCOES and did a week of mechanized … hated it ! 
I was mech all 4 years on active duty- with a stop off at airborne school while stationed at Benning in ‘88 and unfortunately had to go back to my unit upon graduation, so I’m a 5 jump chump lol.
Mech was fun in Germany though during exercises especially with our sister tank units.
I really enjoyed the Reforger exercises that I participated in. I was with the 2nd ACR when I was stationed there and being in Germany was a wonderful time.
I loved it- best time of my life!
