Small fry AFV's, light panzers, halftracks, trucks & armored cars etc

I love Tamiya, even the old stuff. The Meng kits I’ve built are decent. Hobby Boss kits are ok. Master Box has great subject matter but molds and execution are a little hit or miss. I’ve even done a few Revell of Germany armor kits and they aren’t terrible, just don’t expect metal barrels etc. Das Werk, well I have a problem with them stemming from inaccuracies and their unwillingness to resolve the problem in any way shape or form. The inaccuracies were big enough that they stopped production and retooled, yet customer service claims it wasn’t “really” an inaccuracy… They will neither provide the parts for free nor will they sell them separately. Keep in mind my request was to purchase the corrected parts. Nope, the onus is on me to pawn my unbuilt kit at a loss and repurchase their product. I chose to build it as is and not give them another penny. Ever.
The only AFV Club kit I have is the 155mm M1 Long Tom which I haven’t built, but looking through the sprues multiple times the quality looks good. Procurement of said kit was a nightmare, though eBay eventually refunded my money and didn’t make me send back the Revell Stuka for a second time.

Or black dog decided to fix the problem by reboxing the pirate copies.

@dshue Doug, I agree a lot of the older Tamiya kits build up very nice all things considered.

Black Dog probably had to improve given so much of their resin looked like it had chicken pox due to air bubbles :bubbles:

FWIW - result of the custom mix of SCC #2…enjoyed painting but probably the last time I paint something built by someone else.

I really like the Old School Tamiya also. They were State of The Art back in the day. And offered kits no one else did.
