While I like the idea of equipping the M3 with tire chains and particularly track chains, these are much too tight, linear and perfect in my opinion, although this is probably at the limits of what can be done with one-piece 3D printed items. It’s hard to find pictures of the track chains in place, put there should be some sag and pictures of the tire chains do show lots of sag and displacement. But not sure how else you could make this short of making miniature sets of chains out of appropriately sized scale chain.

I was thinking the same thing. As far as 3D printing, I believe they could have been done much better, as there is another company out there which has achieved the look — on wheels anyway.

In your picture, the track chains actually look tighter than most pics, although it could just be the mud buildup causing this.

Agree with both of your critiques on the looks of the chains. They look artificial and unrealistic. As a novice CAD hobbyist and 3D print enthusiast, I can tell that the designer did not want to spend the extra time to create a more realistic look of sagging, etc.
