Thereâs nothing wrong with dynamic poses, although hoplite formations tended to fight in close order. However, Master Boxâ hoplites are both dynamic and credible.

No worries, all points taken. I still think the pose is very natural and will make a great vignette of a Spartan commander duelling a Persian immortal for example (or another hoplite officer). There were lot of individual duels described even in formation battles.
