Another of the Centennial of Naval Aviation Heritage schemes. Two things that I really like about it: 1, it still works for an operational aircraft as a tactical camouflage scheme; 2, the markings are for the PBY that first sighted the Japanese fleet at Midway on June 3 1942.
and this one I just had to include, even if it’s not military. I took this on Hokkaido in winter 2003 during my return from the Yama Sakura exercise. My kids were very much into Pokémon at the time so I thought that they’d love the photo.

To add to the JASDF theme, here’s one of my all time favorite F-15J 303rd TFS 10th Anniversary. Hasegawa did a 1/48 kit of this scheme and I was lucky enough to get hold of the decal sheet.
