Spitfire Mk. Vb RAF Sq. 249 Tribute to George "Buzz" Beurling

This is a tribute build I did for a local Canadian Legion dedicated to
Canadian Ace George Beurling of Verdun (Montreal) Quebec attached
to RAF Sq, 249 Malta and earning the title of the Falcon of Malta.
It is an Italeri kit in 1:72 scale.
Brush painted with Tamiya acrylics.
Hope you enjoy

Very nice! As clean as my aircraft models … :+1: Thanks for showing and the link. Didn’t know much about Beurling. I always find it interesting that allied pilots could be credited with 1/3 or 1/2 kill. I think in Germany it was much easier, one pilot - one kill. If it was not clear who shot the enemy down, the kill was credited to the squadron or to a “newbie” who was involved in the fighting.

Happy modelling!

Thanks for the kind comment and glad to have raised interest on Beurling.
Cheers,

Very nice presentation, Joe! :+1:

I especially like the pilot: tough to get right at the one true scale :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for liking and the comment.
I believe in adding a figure(s) to my builds as much as possible, it adds the sense of scale and visual interest.
Cheers,

Beurling had a remarkable ability to shoot accurately when flying.

Hi Mal,
Thanks for looking in and yes he was an accurate shooter… got him
recognized as Canada’s top WW2 ace. for all his kills.
Cheers,
