Superb build and finish on one of the favourites of all WW2 fighters Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb built by my modelling friend Steve Evans Spitfire Mk Vb, S/L Jan Zumbach, No 303 (Polish) Squadron, Royal Air Force, May 1942 Jan Eugeniusz Ludwig Zumbach (1915-1986). Joined the RAF after the fall of Poland. He scored 8 confirmed kills and a probable during the Battle of Britain, ending the war with 12 confirmed victories, 2 shared, 5 probables and one damaged.

Just to clear doubts, Jan Zumbach was NOT of German background but stemmed from Swiss chocolate producing settlers instead. He got trained in Poland even though being technically Swiss citizen he theoretically could NOT join the Polish army.
His squeaky voice resulted in his adopting Donald Duck as his mascot.
