Spoils of war

The ceiling beams are even with the base. The second and third floors are even with the edge of their respective floors.

Excellent attention to detail…

It might look a bit odd when viewing those floors short of the base edge, but maybe that’s just me. I’m talking about the stair side, not the other side. You might be misunderstanding me. Viewing the second photo above shows what I’m talking about.

No worries, Ruck On!

Not odd at all but to each his own…

I may just be guessing here, @anon80889645 I have no idea what you’re planning to do with the flooring damage-wise, but @PolishBrigade12 I think that he’s leaving it flush with the edge of the building since the building is damaged. It would look rather strange having the floor continue past the broken exterior. Maybe he’s planning to damage the floor there. Are you referring to this image?

No, no biggy. Thanks for trying to clarify, though. See below

Normally when doing a cutaway, or stopping a portion that would naturally cointinue past the view of the intended base, the edges of the object, (building in this case), would be flush with the edge of the base, then painted black, usually. This isn’t my gig, so it was only a question of missing it or intending it.

Ahhh I see that does make more sense now. But yes I do agree now it might look a little strange if it’s not damaged.

There always has to be a few members who are so judgmental. Maybe before you critique and criticize the model that is a work in progress you should wait till it is done.

Please do not take member comments as negative. From my point of view, I believe they are only trying to understand your process, and if anything, trying to be helpful.

Looking forward to more of your outstanding work.

Kind regards,

I’m sorry but you seem to be missing the point of these forums - they aren’t Galleries, they’re designed for progress updates inviting comments & constructive criticism from others along the way.

So if you only want helpful responses when it’s all done, why bother posting progress at all? Just show us the finished project including all the progress photos in one go. Although by then it would most likely be too late to amend or improve anything, unless you’re always 100% right about everything.

You are an extremely talented modelmaker, I’m sure more would say so if you didn’t seem to go out of your way to ignore them even when they praise your work.

@justsendit , that’s all I was trying to do. @anon80889645 I’m sorry if my comment seemed negative, your work is great and I could never achieve your buildings but, like @Dioramartin said, this forum is also about help and feedback, not just praise and affirmation. I think your work is great, some of the best I’ve seen, but I was only trying to help myself and @PolishBrigade12 understand your process and thinking.

I think you are being way too defensive; it’s called constructive criticism. How many times have I missed something in my work that others notice and advise, I correct? All the bloody time!

How else are we to learn from others? This is exactly why I usually never make constructive critical comments unless asked. You have confirmed my point, sadly enough. But, no good deed ever goes unpunished, so I will offer no comment at all.

So if the username anon80889645 is anything to go by I would assume that RE500 left the forum over this… It really is a shame since his work was so good and I was looking forward to seeing the end of his projects. Oh well…

I don’t think they have left the network, merely changed their username ? All his other WIP dio’s have the new username Anon…

Time will tell, but I hope you’re right.

Unless Anon is a default name that automatically goes to an account if the user leaves ??? Like you said … Time will tell…

I think it’s a default when you dismember yourself. I don’t think anyone was overly rude, but perhaps he didn’t care for the criticism.

Yeah I was thinking that on reflection from my post above. Shame if he has as he had started some cracking builds …

It’s a shame to see him bolt, not a favorable outcome. However, why would somebody be so sensitive to constructive criticism, it’s a bloody hobby, BTW? None of us are walking gods, (we always count on others to help us correct our boofs), nor were any of us born with a brush in our hands, so a bit of inquiry is enough to make a person walk? WTF, over? How weak is that? I am at a loss as to why he acts as such, but, ok, no worries. Cya!

That kind of an exit is not conducive to a favorable outcome, just sayin. We shall carry on. And he has already restarted elsewhere, so be it.

P.S. He really did have a lot going on, sry to see him leave.
