I appreciate your work, I really do, it must have taken quite a bit of hard work. No doubt about it.
But, as there always is a but, judging from the way the soldiers are dressed this should take part in summer - autumn of 1942 and how you built the Dragon T-34 is not quite accurate for that period. The transmission cover should have been the one one with 4 straps instead of the 2 hinged one and the rear plate should have the smaller 4 bolted inspection hatch instead of the bigger one with the 7 bolts. (Parts which of course are not provided for the small turret 112 kit, but are there in the hexagonal turret kit
:face_without_mouth:) The tracks might be the wider ones as provided in the STZ kit.
What is not provided in any Dragon kit are the correct idlers and hull MG blister.
Once again bravo for the diorama

I appreciate your feedback. Yeah I knew the T-34 was wrong but I didn’t want to break into my t-34 stash. I kinda regret it now. Especially the hand rails. Oh well. I don’t like the “green” Soviet infantry but I saw a photo of them which is probably a staged propaganda photo well after the battle and it stuck in my mind. The female sniper and scout uniform is probably wrong for Stalingrad as well.

Look, the shade of khaki probably varied a bit. They had to dress up some 20 million soldiers. I would say that on the contrary the shade of tankers overalls should be different for each of them.
But great work again

I’m not sure where you’re getting that T-34 info but it does not seem quite right to me. This is a later factory 112 tank. I’m not sure it would have been available in quite this configuration for Stalingrad either, but not for the reasons you cite.

Is it your claim that no T-34s with the seven-bolt transmission maintenance hatch were available by August 1942 when the Stalingrad battle began? When you say “four bolt” do you mean the rectangular four bolt hatch seen on very early T-34s, or the smaller-diameter round hatch seen on a few factory 112 tanks?

At any rate, some of these parts are indeed included in the 112 kit.

I was using T-34 Shock ( which claims that larger round 7 bolted was introduced at 112 in January 1943) and the CosBear site give the small circular cover for summer of 42. Yes, I know that by that time 183 already introduced the larger one and those source never went near Nizhny Novgorod but seeing pictures of the smaller cover at the 3rd battle of Kharkiv and even at Kursk, I would say that it is probably true.

If you can prove me wrong, so be it.

Great stuff, and outstanding diorama!
Factory walls nicely treated, and that’s a lot of figures nicely balanced.
Cheers
