Stencils for Modern US Armor

As I get more into this hobby, I’m trying to get closer to the vehicles that I remember truing wrenches on and find myself wanting to use stencils for makings and bumper numbers instead of decals. Does anybody out there have any ideas to where I can buy or what I need to get to make my own 35 scale stencils.

yep, I got that one it’s the only one that I could find I used it on a Abrams build that I did. I really want to be able to do custom bumper numbers.

They are simple to do by making your own decals on your home computer/printer. Design the decals in PPT., then print onto printer decal paper. You can make just about anything you can think of.

can you just print and cut them out I want the painted-on look. I’m going for the soldier on Friday at 1630 got to get this done or I don’t go home look.

You print them out and let them dry, seal with a flatcoat or dullcoat. Once dry, cut them out and use like any other water-slide decal. You can select the font you want; stencil, sloppy spray paint, or any other.

I make my own decals for most of my modles.

where do you get the decal paper from?

I use Papilio brand. There are a quite a few others too. Be sure to get the right type of paper for your printer; either deskjet or inkjet.

They have clear and white (among other colors). The only real limitation is making white lettering/numbers. Most home printers do not print white since it is assumed that you are using white paper. To make white, you either have to use white decal paper with a colored surroud, or paint white and use clear paper with a colored surround.

Simple black stencils for bumper numbers are easy though.
