Steve's minis UH 1Y door gunners, 1/9 scale review

I found these guys at Steve’s minis in Austria and immediately ordered them in 1/9 scale, which Steve was able to do. They arrived promptly and undamaged*, you should have seen the packaging, and complete in the printing frame. Clean up was straight forward and took little time using a razor saw and side cutters. As you can see, they are not completely ready to start painting.

The detail is great, the subject is unique and modern, and the service exemplary.

The main drawcard for me was the gunner with maxillofacial shield helmet and the option to paint this in some outlandish paint scheme, whether imperial stormtrooper, monster lizard or croc, or a cool pattern. And his sidekick is there, too, as one does not work without the other.

No construction required, no instructions, no decals included, you’re free to finish these guys are you want, there are plenty of reference images out there.

No lows or drwwbacks with either figure, easily recommended from Steve’s Minis.

  • damage to left strap of first figure was caused by myself freeing the figure from the print frame.

I’m seeing these and they look great…very original. I might consider some custom 3D print order myself in a larger scale…

Thanks, @Newtonk !

These look a lot like R2 Miniatures offerings. Copies?

R2 Miniatures provides decals and clear parts with their figures.

Perhaps guys from R2 would like to know about Steve’s products.

Anyway, after chinese copies of resin figures now we have these… I’m not even sure how one copies 3D printed figures. A 3D scanner?

Yes, i did email R2 and never heard back.
