Stolly at BATUS

I have no recollection of them being there! Does anyone know any different? If not then it’s back to green and black for my upcoming jobbie😀

Jacko464,

To my knowledge, there were no Stalwarts at BATUS, but I may be mistaken.
As an alternative to the standard camouflage scheme, you could carry out a
relatively simple modification to produce the Reef Rescue Vehicle, as used on
the island of Gan in the Maldives.
Attached are a couple of images of my 1/76-scale version.

They were used in the middle east and had sand camouflage. There was a version marketed as the Berliet Aurochs and is in the European 3 colour camouflage system if you want alternatives.

Thanks guys, the ones out east were in Aden and MK1s so not applicable to Mk2s,
I have the UBRE set to go on the back so a rescue version is out I’m afraid😀

I started doing regular BATUS trips from 1985, and as far as I can remember, we didnt have Stollies out there as part of the Sqn set up, although they were back in BAOR in the Sqn as the UBRE.
The UBREs we had in BATUS were on Bedfords. Then before we left Germany, and in BATUS , the UBREs were crossed decked onto Bedford TM’s.
