Stoner from Bravo-6 1/35

Probably I have to make the edges of the darker green sharper, in reality is almost black, but couldn’t get it nicely with the camera. Also is very hard to see the light stripes in that scale.

vietnam era tigerstripe is a tough one as there were differences in colour saturation abd style as it was a non standardised uniform.

Check out the link below, it’s better equipped to explain the different camouflage patterns throughout the history of U.S. armed forces.

Before you go making changes let me say I wasn’t criticizing your work, I think your figure looks fantastic as is, I was only remarking that (to me) the pattern didn’t appear horizontal enough or contain enough black coloring to resemble ‘Tiger’ stripe, I could be wrong. As for myself, your pattern more closely matches the soldier’s uniform in the background rather than the foreground. Didn’t mean to rock the boat brother.

Don’t worry, we are here to discuss and criticize. All points taken :+1:
As for the black, I avoid using black and white colors, they are too contrasting. Especially considering the small scale I think very dark green is more suited.

I feel this is tiger stripe is really good. Somewhat subdued colors as it was used in field… I don’t think there’s much room for improvement here.

I really don’t think the uniform on your figure could be mistaken for the ERDL camo. The colors, the pattern… it is a completely different camouflage and your figure captures the essence of tiger stripe really well.

I’m not changing the pattern, but it needs some sharpening of the stripes here and there.

No you are correct, they are two distinct patterns. Venelins figure is clearly Tiger stripe.

an interesting mix of tigerstripe and ERDL uniform in the background.

I actually did ERDL also, with the “Duck feet” navy seal (probably is in the old forum)

It was in the old forum and just incase the images are lost, the video is better.

Because there are several Tiger stripe variations, for example Dragon has a paint guide for the 1968 1/35 SEALs on the box, and a tiger stripe pattern inside the 1/16 kit for the box cover art. Of course color photos always help.

i remember reading something from the NVA perspective that the tigerstripe wasn’t very effective as camouflage especially aftef it had been exposed to the elements and actually made it easier for the NVA to spot the Americans as they referred to them as the ‘zebra men’.

Some minor corrections and sharpening of the stripes, but not changing the overall camo. Final coat of AK Ultra matte over the uniform, gives a nice flat and kind of faded look

Cheers!

This figure is turning out quite nicely. I like the flexible ammo belts. Can you make them for 7.62?

Thanks! Yes I have 7.62 belt with the M60 I designed

Oops, I almost forgot the M72 launcher on the back
