Here is my diorama of the a PBR stuck on a sandbar during the Vietnam war
Did the captain take a wrong turn?
Perhaps more than one leak?
- great scene & details, bravo

No based on a incident that happened to a PBR captain who I met a few years ago.this is the photo it is based on
Charlie don’t surf!
Weren´t the hulls make of fiberglass?
Looks great. Nice job. I really like the Tamiya PBR and have built a few over the years. Is the engine and compartment all scratch? I did similar a few years ago.
Yes wooden hull covered with fiberglass
Thanks Gino.Yes the engine room is scratch build using the Academy M113 engine as base as it is the same Detroit diesel engine used in the PBR just the marine version
Stunning work!
The Tamiya depicts a petrol engine but is still a good starting point.I remember your build from the old site. This build took me nearly 5 years to complete because of many factors..
Thank you very much
Outstanding build Oliver, the additional detail you’ve added really helps bring it to life,![]()

That sailor needs to hydrate.
Yes great build Oliver! Always like to see in-progress pics. Details, scratchbuilt items,
figures all well done, and enjoy the fact based inspiration too.
