Have a lead on a Su-17UM3 for a decent price. Question … what are the exterior differences from the 17 to 22. I know the 22 was the export version with different engine and avionics. Figuring the only differences would be air scoop/ vent and antennae fits. I’m leaning towards DDR markings. Kit also has parts for the recce pod and markings for a Soviet recce unit in Afghanistan. Would the reccebirds have carried any weapons load for targets of opportunity? (know they did not need air to air. They operated above flying carpets max ceiling)
