Evening all, am getting ready to tackle my first 3d kit. A Hobblylink Trailer and would like suggestions on what glue will work best. Any help is appreciated. Wayne
Thin superglue works best for me on 3D resin parts. I use the cheap 4-packs of Duro from Wal-Mart. Make sure they fit and are in the right place before gluing as they are not adjustable once glued.
For large resin parts I like using 10min epoxy (two part) glue, equally strong but giving some time to adjust.
I’ve been doing resin kits since the early nineties, and have used every imaginable kind of CA.
Your question is about 3D resin, but there should be no difference. I find thin CA isn’t practicable in most applcations - it sets too quickly, and it often gets where it shouldn’t. It’s nearly invisible, so it gets painted over, leaving the hapless modeler to discover it only after it’s too late. Happens on here more than you’d think.
I currently use this for 3D printed parts:
It has a bit of thickness to it, so you have a little bit of play time. Very little, but enough.
When you’re gluing tiny little pieces you need to be able to adjust your work.
Case in point:

I have also advocated for the use of PVA for larger resin and 3D printed pieces. You get plenty of time to adjust things. Just make sure it’s clamped well or at least in a position where it can’t move. And the nice thing is you can clean it with water.
