Syrian Army Jagdpanzer IV, 1953 configuration

About six Jagdpanzer IV L/48s were acquired by Syria in the 1950s, until today only two of these vehicles were known through photos, one taken during a military parade in Damascus, the “Fathi Al-Atassy martyr” Jagdpanzer IV and another as wreck in the Golan Heights. Thus the choice to recreate a Jagdpanzer IV in scale was limited, until the day I was screening a Bundesarchiv video, from this moment on I was blissed. The video showed a Syrian military parade with among other vehicles such as Sherman tanks and Dodge trucks a yet unknown Jagdpanzer IV, the “Abd Al-Hamid Naassan martyr” Jagdpanzer IV.

The model kit is based on this Jagdpanzer IV parading in Damascus in 1953.

The kit used is the 1/35 Dragon 3594 Arab Jagdpanzer IV L/48, updated with Rye Field Model RM-504 Pz.Kpfw.III/IV Early Production (40cm) Tracks.
