Finally after dozens of hours the model is ready to paint.
Very nice. I’m surprised we haven’t seen them in Ukraine.
This is just export variant and version from 2013 which isn’t produced anymore so we will never see them in Ukraine.
Yes I know, but Russia might need everything it can get.
Maxim machine guns are not produced anymore, but have been used in Ukraine. So anything is possible. In any case, your build looks good.
Ken
The model has been painted with primer (m hobby black) and base color (mr hobby c511). And yeah I know that t-90ms tanks don’t use green camo but I don’t really like their dessert camo so decided to use the russian army camo although they don’t even use them.
Very nice
Nice paint on an excellent build. Don’t worry, you’ll see Russia diverting export tanks for their use soon, if it already hasn’t happened.
Looks good, photos are fine
They are there, just with a few changes and go under the guise of a T 90M
Can someone point me to the differences between T90M and T90MS? AFAIK MS is an export version (not yet known to whom it has been exported) and in our scale produced by Trumpeter and Zvezda. T90M has different MG and those little chains hanging from the turret. What are other visible differences and how hard is it to backdate MS to M? Any aftermarket help?
Thanks,
Tiger models are supposed to do a T 90M based on their T 90MS kit, there was an article/build in Military Modelling International a few months back, only the builder didn’t use any parts for the T 90M and just built the MS and called it an M!. There are a lot of small changes to be made and some major ones, new RCWS, new APU, Relikt armour for the turret, glacis and track guards, different shaped and length Relikt side panels, commanders hatch needs rotating 180 degrees along with all the periscopes plus a myriad of other small changes, it’s doable depending on your skill. Or you could just change the RCWS and hide everything else under the thermal blankets
Currently the T-90M Poryv-3 being used in Ukraine has a slightly different side profile on the turret to the MS.
T-90MS ‘Tagil’
T-90M Proryv-3.
They have also tweaked the turret armor very recently too, some now look like this.
I believe there is now a T-90M Mod 2023 as well complete with a cope-cage and mounting space for additional armor on the side skirts as well as being compatible with the Nakidka. I could be wrong but I don’t think I’ve yet seen one in Ukraine with the factory built cope cage.
Well never say never,
The newer armour layout with Relikt at the rear instead of slat armour and an extra layer fitted to the side skirts/Relikt
Of course the easiest way to model a T 90M
Or
Not sure what use the RCWS is under the cage.
Ah- thanks for those Simon- excellent shots those too!
Also think I may be wrong about the turret tweaks- it would seem that the layout of the two I posted is the same- each side has a slightly different shape of armor around the smoke dischargers. So these two pics:
They are both the same version I think and not different as I suggested earlier. My apologies.
Also wanted to post this from Vitaly Kuzmin’s website showing the latest T-90M from a recent display earlier this year.
Yes the turret armour differs from Side to side, when I read it i didn’t catch that you meant the side armour, as they have recently changed the turret roof armour to smaller bricks as shown here and added more of them so they cover more of the roof.
And the hull side armour has also changed
Thank you Simon for pointing that out- it’s good to know .
Great looking color on it Mateusz!
