Take note that it’s a periscope head in that housing , the lens doesn’t occupy the whole opening.

Do you mean below the MG, or on the turret roof behind the MG?
The MG port does not look like the kit does; the turret should be much thicker and the hole deeper, closed off at the rear. The bushing allowing the MG to elevate should be solid metal with no glass.

As stated, there should be a periscope in that opening. Trumpeter missed adding another L4 part to put in there.
