Been meaning to ask you what you think of the turret in this kit? Have you started working on it yet? There is something about the turret the bugs me a little but I think it’s an easy enough fix, the forward antenna bulge seems a bit angular and square to my eyes.
here I highlighted the area off of an online photo of a completed Takom kit. I feel this area is a bit off, I’ve never seen anyone cast one of these turrets with that sharp of an angle in this particular area.
I haven’t touched it yet and will now give it a close look. Thanks for the heads up.
Just looked at it but didn’t check for the areas correctness, but did notice there is no smoke mortar hole.
I guess I need to pay more attention to the images on the minutia page, those top two images you posted do look a bit angular like the Takom kit. The idea in my head is closer to the bottom photo you posted but like with everything Sherman there was a lot of variety due to all the different companies involved in manufacturing parts for these tanks. So my statement stands, I haven’t seen anyone make this shape on one of these turrets in plastic before but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It just means that Takom has given us a version from a foundry that nobody had done in plastic before.
Why did you decide to do an aftermarket 3D printed deflector?
Because the kit’s does not hold a candle to the 3D part.
I had to go look in the box but yeah, big upgrade with the 3D part 
That company makes some great products and you can get them from BNA.
Thanks for the heads up on BNA. I’d never heard of them before. I placed an order for a couple of those 3D printed parts, how long does it usually take to get stuff here in the states?
Looks fantastic and you added the welds, do you use rod or putty to recreate those?
Under two weeks. They also keep you in the loop about the box’s progress.
